The Bowery Mission: Suitcase Initiative

The Stageberg Family Foundation supports: The Bowery Mission Suitcase Initiatve

At Black Swan | Real Estate | Real Life, we talked about the importance of giving your money away. While we explroed real estate investing strategies, we talked about not just reaching financial freedom, but building a legacy and making an impact on the world along the way. After all, real estate investing is not about putting money in your pockets, but designing life on one’s own terms. The goal is to change lives.

We were lucky to meet Rachel Woo at our conference, who introduced us to the Bowery Mission. The Bowery Mission is a shelter working to combat the epidemic of homelessness in New York City, providing meals, shelter, and clothing to those who need it.

Rachel discovered the Bowery Mission when she walked past a line of women checking into the shelter in New York City. Shortly after, she got involved with the Bowery Mission and launched the Suitcase Initiative.

Rachel noticed that many people who visit these shelters have no reliable way to carry their belongings with them, and resort to using tattered trash bags or nothing at all. The Suitcase Initiative is Rachel’s solution, with the goal of helping as many homeless people as possible. This drive for duffle bags, backpacks, and suitcases will support the individuals and families who visit one of the 3 Bowery Mission locations in NYC.

The Stageberg Family Foundation is happy to be donating to this cause, and we encourage you to get in touch with Rachel to see how you can help make a change!

Connect with Rachel on Facebook, or by phone at (917) 588-5624.

Rachel is accepting gently used suitcases, backpacks, and dufflebags locally. If you are not in New York, Rachel is accepting donations that will be used to purchase suitcases for the Bowery Mission.
